About Our Distinguished Guest

Both Brian and Katie serve in the broadband and telecommunications division of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. 

As the senior director of regulatory issues, Brian is intimately familiar with the rural broadband controversies and rural broadband solutions. He has advocated on behalf of electric co-ops In their provisioning internet service. He has been with NRECA for five years and previously worked as legislative director of telecommunications, technology, and water with the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. Before NARUC, Brian also spent time at the Rural Broadband Association NTCA. 

As the legislative affairs director for broadband and telecommunications, Katie joined NRECA in 2022. She served as a policy and legislative advisor on Capitol Hill. She holds a B.A. in political science from Taylor University.
