Request for Initial Planning Funds

Under the BEAD program, a state, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico may request up to $5,000,000 in Initial Planning Funds. American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands may request up to $1,250,000. Each Eligible Entity’s Initial Planning Funds will be drawn from that Eligible Entity’s Minimum Initial Allocation. If the Eligible Entity requests Initial Planning Funds, it must submit an application for Initial Planning Funds by August 15, 2022, and a Five-Year Action Plan within 270 days of receipt of the Initial Planning Funds.
